Lucille L. Batson (nee) Topp

Lucille L. Batson (nee Topp) 93, formerly of Frankfort, IL, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, IL.

Lucille Lydia Topp was born to John F. and Catherine (Heisner) Topp on January 26, 1922, in Spencer, IL.  She married William D. Batson on June 29, 1946, at St Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Frankfort, IL.  He died in 1980.

For many years she was employed as a clerk at the Ace Hardware Store in Frankfort, and she was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Frankfort.

She is survived by one brother-in-law Ralph (Rita) Batson of Peotone, IL; a nephew Ronald (Constance) Koehn and a niece Barbara A. Koehn of Fulton, IL; other nephews and nieces, cousins, and a special friend Ken Blazek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son Lawrence W. Batson; and one brother Wilbur E. Topp.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 12 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL. Interment immediately following at Skyline Memorial Park, 24800 South Governors Highway, Monee, IL. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.
