Carol Lena Formentini (nee Mancini)

December 14, 1935 - April 29, 2018

Carol Lena Formentini (nee Mancini) age 83 of Frankfort, IL formerly of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on April 29, 2018.

Carol loved her family, spending times with her grandkids and extended family. Carol was a great cook and enjoyed hosting parties and holidays. She loved books but never seemed to have the time to read. Her children described her as a “Spiritual Rock” and very involved in her church. Carol was an extremely compassionate person who wanted nothing more than to take care of someone in need.

Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years Serafino Formentini Jr; daughter MaryAnne (Michael) Boese; sons John (Patricia) & Mark (Gail); sister Gwen Techman; grandchildren Sarah, Katherine & Jordan and great-grand children Ben, Madeline & Chloe. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Joyce Grey.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 2 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of prayers at 9:30 am, at Gerardi Funeral Home, 9501 West Lincoln Hwy (1 block east of LaGrange Rd. on Rt. 30) Frankfort, IL. Mass immediately following St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort, IL at 10:00 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, IL.
