Betty Jean Pomykala (nee) Deist

July 16, 1926 - July 28, 2017

Betty Jean Pomykala (nee Deist), age 91, passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois with her two daughters by her side.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Marion J. Pomykala; her parents, William and Mabel Deist; and her sister, Lorraine Warning.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Gail Mclean (Keith) and Debbie Phillips (John); grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Lauren (Mclean), Nicole (Phillips Zink); and three great-grandchildren, Hudson, Sawyer and Evie Reith Mclean; and numerous nieces and nephews; and sister, Lois Schoen.

Betty was born and raised in Frankfort, Illinois. She was a devoted daughter and sister, a loving mother, a cherished grandma and adoring great-grandmother.

She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s United Church in Frankfort and was active in the Women’s Fellowship. Betty drove a school bus for Warning Charter Services for 25 years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Peter’s United Church, 12 West Sauk Trail, Frankfort, Illinois. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 12:00pm.
