Dear Mrs. Porter ~ it's been over ten years that I have walked past your home . . . and picked up your newspaper & placed it on your porch. First, I would put it on your porch, later I would put it on the knob of your door. Then, as I began to think about things . . . I said to myself 'why don't you check her mailbox'! So, then I would try to check both the newspaper & the mail EARLY in the morning . . . and place it on your door knob. I was always worried you would falter on the back porch -- . I loved giving you some gifts at different times of the seasons; oh, and you were so very fond of the mini muffins! You said, why they are just the right bite size! We shared conversation, friendship . . . and I will continue to miss you. Initially I picked up your paper in honor of Robert's dedication to our Frankfort Museum; later, I would do it just for you! Loved your smile, your disposition and of course, your life stories & tenacity! I will visit you & Robert up on the Hill ~ Your Paper lady, Deborah.

Thank you, Dorothy, for sharing your life, photographs and love of family history with us. You are greatly missed. When we talked by telephone and I asked questions about growing up in Frankfort, the farm and our families, Dorothy, you would always take time to explain everything in detail. When finished, you would close by saying that I could call back anytime and ask more questions. Dorothy, you have answered my many questions about the Elsner and Kampe families and our Frankfort history. I think there are more family stories and photos waiting to tell me about our heritage. Maybe one day we can laugh and talk about them together. Thank you! Someday we will hug again!!!
